Ahsan winning Coach Core ‘Graduate of the Year 2024’ award

Ahsan Sankandar has been a vital part of the White Rose Rugby team for six years, immersing himself in every project and initiative with enthusiasm and commitment. Known for his rapport with staff and players alike, Sanny brings a warm, inclusive approach to his sessions. His expertise spans mixed-ability, disability, and Special Educational Needs (SEN) coaching, making him a versatile and valued member of the team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Sports Leaders Program: Co-teaches alongside Dave Duxbury and Tom Parnell, focusing on developing students’ coaching and lesson-planning skills to foster the next generation of sports leaders.
  • Mixed-Ability Coaching: Leads sessions that cater to players of all abilities, creating a supportive environment that encourages learning, growth, and camaraderie.

Throughout his playing career, Ahsan has been a dedicated team member at the Bumble Bee’s RUFC, participating in three Mixed-Ability World Cups and is looking forward to a fourth World Cup in Pamplona. Recently, he’s expanded his experience by joining the MARI’s, an invitational mixed-ability team, where he continues to make an impact both on and off the field.
