What was the task?
- We were tasked to introduce rugby to children with varying levels of disabilities, looking to align with mixed ability projects already running in the area. We also were tasked to upskill staff on how to deliver rugby based tasks to a wide range of abilities, differentiating for individuals.
What we Delivered?
- We delivered a short term block of sessions that got a large number of participants engaged in rugby.
- Planned and delivered sessions tailored to a range of different abilities and individuals
What did we achieve?
- Through our rugby sessions, we enabled all the participants to try rugby and also develop their rugby skills and core values. We showed current pathways for those that wanted to continue playing rugby and introduced rugby to all the children with varying levels of disabilities. We also helped the teachers gain knowledge and have the ability to run rugby sessions safely and gave session ideas that could be tailored to all individuals in the future.
