The Half Game Rule

Player enjoyment and development at the centre of a new regulation been pushed by the RFU. Which see’s all players in a match day team, get the chance to play at least half a game of rugby.

The clearest message from young players is that they want to play alongside their friends as part of the team.  That’s why last September, England Rugby asked all of its Age Grade clubs, schools and colleges to make sure everyone in a match day squad gets to play at least half the game time available.

Now that a year has almost past, the RFU will be making the Half Game Rule a Regulation that all of its Age Grade clubs, schools and colleges must follow. The Regulation will start from September 2019. Please watch the video below to find out some tips and information about the half game rule.
